East Court

East Court was founded as a school for dyslexic boys and girls in 1983 and has since grown to gain national and international acclaim.

Student by fireplaceWe are a residential school for seven to thirteen year old children. Weekly and full-boarding facilities are available. Day school places are open to children living within a reasonable distance of the school.

One of the major advantages for dyslexic children at East Court is that we alleviate, on a continuing basis, all of the negative reactions to schooling that dyslexic children often have from previous educational failures.

East Court has a lively, child-centred atmosphere. We have planned our school to be a real second home to our children, a place of happiness in which young people can flourish. We have homely, brightly decorated bedrooms (where most colour schemes, including the selection of the wall-to-wall carpeting, are chosen by the children). All of our children are helped and encouraged to organise themselves and keep their personal areas tidy. Each room is thoroughly cleaned daily.

Cricket team by mini-bus Although we have a school uniform which all our children wear during school hours and on certain school visits, boarders may change into casual clothes at 5 pm after school. Indeed, we encourage individuality in dress after a day spent hard at work. Clothing lists are available on request.
