Our resident Matron, Assistant Matron, Care Assistants and Housekeepers look after our children's personal, medical and laundry requirements. The Principal and Deputy Head are always on call during term-time.

We have a small sickroom and provide the normal medical facilities to deal with childhood ailments, bumps, bruises and tummy aches. A number of our academic and care staff have excellent first-aid training, and we also have a nurse who holds bi-weekly clinics at the school. However, should a pupil fall really ill, we immediately contact our doctors' surgery then advise parents to collect their child if necessary. We feel strongly that children like to be at home when they are not well. Full-boarding children are registered with our local General Practitioners.

We encourage our children to maintain close family ties by letter, fax, e-mail, telephone or weekend visits home, often with their school friends. Those pupils who remain at the school over the weekend enjoy a family atmosphere with other boarders and have a relaxed but busy social programme.
