There are facilities to help dyslexic children within the school system but these are often under-resourced and poorly equipped.
The parents' legal right of choice for their child's education is often very restricted. There may be, for example, one local school which has a sessionally based remedial unit with a full-time or visiting remedial teacher.
Alternatively, there may be an option for the child to attend a local Centre which, among other facilities, also addresses dyslexic difficulties.
The third option is for the child to attend a school which caters specifically for dyslexic difficulties: a school that provides a programme of special help geared to the dyslexic child's specific needs. East Court is the leading school in this field.
