Assessments, guidance and advice are, of course, always available from the Principal. An end of term report is prepared for each child and sent to parents. In addition, the Principal is always delighted to give educational advice to parents.
Assessment
All our children are assessed regularly on their reading, spelling, writing and mathematical attainments. The results are fully recorded and the children's progress is closely monitored. We have published a number of East Court teaching evaluations in academic journals, copies of which are available on request. An example of our results is illustrated opposite. The graph compares the results of dyslexic children at East Court with dyslexic children who are not given help. It emphasises that children who are not helped lag further and further behind as their age increases.
KEY TO CHART:
Blue line: Non-dyslexic children.
Green line: Dyslexic children at East Court (BAS Word Reading).
Red line: Dyslexic children not given help (based on University of Aston data).
The graph is based on average scores. Most of our children will leave East Court able to read at their age-appropriate level.
